Thank you for your interest in donating artwork, documents or objects to the National Museum and Art Gallery of Trinidad and Tobago. Offers from generous donors like yourself assure the continuing development of the National Museum and Art Gallery’s collection. All offers are considered in the context of the Collections Management Policy. A close examination of the existing collection holdings, conservation requirements and storage constraints are reviewed before accepting donations. The National Museum and Art Gallery collects resources that contain content of evidential or informational value. This means that only the very best material is accepted into the National Museum and Art Gallery collection. The National Museum and Art Gallery’s collecting scope currently emphasizes the following areas: Art, Social History, Natural History, Economic History, Petroleum, Geology and Carnival Arts. Items acquired for inclusion in these collections may include: Three-dimensional objects and artwork in all formats Textiles and Costumes Published items Government records Business and association records Individual and family papers Photographs Moving images Sound Recordings Lithic and faunal specimens Please do not leave original objects, documents or artwork with the Museum Attendants.
