Ministry of Public Administration, (Scholarships and Advanced Training Division), announces the availability of Scholarships

 

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago – May 3, 2012: The Cabinet of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago has approved the offer of scholarships under five (5) scholarship programmes to citizens of Trinidad and Tobago in various critical fields suited to the development of the country as follows: • Allied Health Scholarship Programme • Social Work and Related Social Science Scholarship Programme • Library and Information Science Scholarship Programme • Disability Scholarship Programme • Development Needs Scholarship Programme Additionally, the Cabinet accepted the offer to nominate citizens of Trinidad and Tobago for scholarships offered by the under-mentioned foreign Governments: New Zealand United Kingdom Malaysia Turkey Mexico Colombia The Cabinet has also approved the Interim National Development Human Resource Needs for Trinidad and Tobago. This document prioritizes the areas of study deemed critical for the development of the country and the award of scholarships. The offers of scholarships under the various scholarship programmes and the Interim National Development Human Resource Needs will be published to the website at www.scholarships.gov.tt shortly. The Scholarships and Advanced Training Division, Ministry of Public Administration is responsible for the management and administration of all scholarships offered by or through the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Scholarships enable citizens to acquire skills and training in areas that are critical to the development of the country. Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis after applications are received in response to the relevant advertisements, which outline the eligibility and selection criteria for the various scholarships.
