Minister Cuffie tours the Government Campus Plaza

The Honourable Maxie Cuffie, Minister of Public Administration and Communications toured three main facilities of the Government Campus Building on April 8, 2016. He was accompanied by Ms. Lydia Jacobs, Permanent Secretary; Mr. Kurt Meyer, Deputy Permanent Secretary and other key personnel of the Ministry and UDECOTT.

The Government Campus is intended to house a number of Ministries and Divisions inclusive of the Ministries of Education, Attorney General and Legal Affairs and the Immigration Division. The outfitting of the building is currently being undertaken by UDECOTT which has given the assurance that all three buildings will be ready for occupation soon.

Commenting on the progress of the project, Minister Cuffie said, “The occupation of the Government Campus by Ministries and Divisions will reduce some of our expenditure by moving into our own buildings. In our current economic climate, it is imperative that we look at all possible avenues of strengthening our savings. In addition, the Government Campus provides more suitable accommodations to staff thereby ensuring increased efficiency and effectiveness in the workplace.”

In a few short months, we can expect to see the occupation of this building by the respective Ministries and Divisions.
